Message From Our Co-Presidents
Dear Leigh Families,
We hope you are all staying safe and healthy. These are uncertain times for all of us for sure. Please know that our Home & School Club is here to provide support and connection for our Leigh community. Reach out to us at any time if you need anything or have any questions. We will help directly if we can, or help you figure out who best to connect with. Contact us any time at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We invite you to connect with the Home & School Club and be a part of this wonderful community. Read our monthly newsletters and stay up to date with Home & School Club happenings, attend our monthly meetings (on Zoom for the foreseeable future), follow us on Facebook, and come back and visit this website regularly.
We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of the parents who helped us pivot during these past months and figure out how best to support our staff and our students in this new situation. With the help of a lot of parents we put several wonderful programs in place (Adulting 101, mental health resources, staff appreciation etc).
We want to continue supporting our community in any way we can, and we invite you to share any ideas or suggestions you may have to help our students, our staff, and our families through this current situation. We would love to hear from you.
We voted in our 2020-21 Board at our last HSC meeting in May. We are very grateful to serve alongside such a dedicated and enthusiastic team and we thank each of them for being so generous with their time and talents. Each Board and Committee Chair oversees a team of volunteers. Thank you to ALL of the parents on these teams – your support is very much appreciated. We also welcome and appreciate new members and would like to invite you to join our team. Additional parents are always welcome to join our teams and we do need your help!
All skills and interests are needed. We typically have a variety of projects such as community building, financial management, communications, fundraising, project planning, gardening, writing, technology support, volunteer coordination, College & Career Center support, etc. We also need parents for once-off projects such as the Stampede 5K Run/Walk on May 16th, 2021, and Senior Grad Night in June 2021. Next year there may also be new tasks as our school navigates the new learning environment. Being on the board is a great way to support Leigh, to learn more about our school, and to get to know other parents in the community.
Please also consider making a donation to our Home & School Club. Given the challenging year we have ahead, our donations will be needed more than ever. Our Annual Giving is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we appreciate any donation you can make. The money raised pays for so many important programs including: classroom resources and materials, technology, enrichment programs such as Project Lead the Way Tech Challenge, and our ongoing campus beautification program. You can learn more about where we have spent our money in past years here.
Many local companies offer matching donations to school organizations. Please avail of this corporate matching program if possible so that you you can double or triple your donation to Leigh Home and School Club. Click here to determine if your company participates in this program.
Thank you for any support you can give. We greatly appreciate it.
It takes a Village… this is YOUR Village!
